School Supply Drive – Backpack Packing Event
August 17 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We are excited to announce yet another summer activity/community service project. We have recently partnered with St. Peter’s Episcopal church, for a School Supply Drive, benefiting Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation (CHEF).
Several ranks have a “Duty to God” adventure requirement, and this act of service will fulfill that requirement. Please check with your den leader, for more information and to let them know if your scout has participated.
Ways to Participate
There are several ways for you and your family to participate in this summer activity/service project:
- Collect school supplies from the supplies list and either bring them to Cape Henlopen State Park on Saturday, August 17th from 4:00-5:00pm or drop them off at the following drop off location below at any time through the morning of Thursday, August 15th:
- Peter’s Episcopal Church
- We have put together an Amazon registry of the items needed. Go to the registry and purchase the school supplies. You can either have them shipped to Assistant Cubmaster Chris Huebler’s home or you can ship them to your home and bring them to our Summer Camping Trip August https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/31DP0N4P5QAMQ?ref_=wl_share
- If you are unable to collect or purchase school supplies, you and your scout can volunteer to help us fill the collected backpacks and still receive credit!
Backpack Packing Event
All cub scouts and their families are encouraged to join us on Saturday, August 17th from 4:00-5:00pm in Cape Henlopen State Park to fill the backpacks with the donated supplies so that we can provide the filled backpacks to CHEF for distribution to the students.
